Engagement

We believe community engagement moves people. As analysts, we see engagement as a chance to surface insights that don't show up in the numbers, illuminating where politics, regulatory systems, or financial hurdles create barriers, intended or not, to a policy or development goal. We also see engagement as an opportunity to move stakeholders themselves, aligning advocates around a project's goals rather than just gathering their input. That work can range from expert interviews with developers, lenders, and real estate professionals, to equity-based frameworks that specifically reach constituencies, seniors, renters, workforce households, who are often the least vocal in planning and policy processes.

Housing and real estate decisions often require real technical fluency to engage with meaningfully. Rather than oversimplify the data, we aim to develop interactive tools, whether dashboards, interactive maps, or financial spreadsheets, that meet people where they are, while still making room for a genuine conversation about the real tradeoffs behind policy, design, and development decisions.
